Offset printing is a very high-quality form of printing where ink is first applied to a rubber mat and is then applied to the cardstock. The result is a much crisper print than what is produced by digital printing. Offset printing is the only CMYK printing option that RockDesign offers on our premium and luxury cards since we believe in only producing products of the highest quality possible. Offset printing can be used to create spot colors or high-quality images and is perfect for clients who are looking for color matching. Although we do not print with pantones we use them as reference so that we can get as close to your preferred color as possible. The price of offset printing is not included in our premium, and luxury card lines. When using the price calculator please be sure to add this feature if it is required. With out adding this feature there will be no colored or black ink included on the print job.
RockDesign does not guarantee a 100% color match
Please provide reference pantones codes that are uncoated for our uncoated stocks, and reference codes that are coated for our laminated stocks (i.e. Silk).
Full bleed color may lead to unavoidable color inconsistencies due to the way the cardstock absorbs ink.
Full bleed color print (i.e. One side printed all dark blue) is not available on our soft or hard suede due to the extreme inconsistency of the ink saturation
Dark colors may have slight transfer to lighter areas of the card. Although we use slip sheets between cards to prevent this, a small amount of transfer may be unavoidable
Our silk laminated and smooth white cardstocks are the best choice for replicating photographs
300 dpi is the recommended minimum resolution for photos printed with offset printing
Multiple spot colors in close proximity to each other may have slight alignment shifts.
Offset print may have slight alignment shifts when in close proximity to other finishings such as foil stamping, thermography, or spot UV
The cost of offset printing is not included in the base price of our premium and luxury cards. Please be sure to add this feature if you are using the price calculator and require it
It is RockDesign’s discretion what is printed via spot color and what is printed using a 4 color process
